Grade School Curriculum

Goals
Our educational program meets each student’s intellectual, cultural, physical, artistic, and spiritual needs. Our goal is to train and equip young people for a life of service to God, based on II Timothy 3:16 and 17, “All scripture is inspired by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, for training in righteousness; that the man of God may be adequate, equipped for every good work.”

Age of Eligibility
In order to comply with Arizona State Law, Kindergarten students must be five (5) and First grade students must be six (6) before August 1.

We believe and enforce the birth date requirements for enrollment for the following reasons:

• Studies show children are most likely to experience overall success in a class with their peers.

• Children may be advanced in a specific area, but most young children are not advanced in all areas. For instance, young children who are above average in academic areas still usually fit best with their peers in social, emotional, or physical areas.

Experience has shown us that children who are pushed ahead often struggle in upper grades. Their immaturity may not be displayed until they are one of the youngest students in Jr. High. We want our students to succeed and enter grade school with a good, strong foundation in all areas. We believe it is a disservice to the child when we allow exceptions to this policy.

Curriculum
Our Grade School classes use A Beka and ACSI Curriculum. The subjects include: Bible, Character Development, Language Arts (group reading, phonics, spelling, vocabulary, writing, grammar, and Spanish), mathematics, social studies, science/health and art.

Students will attend Chapel, field days, music and field trips.

Hours
Grade School
8:25 – 3:00

Small Family Atmosphere
Children are known by their name. Because our class sizes are small (maximum of 18 students) we are able to develop a close relationship with each student and their parents
