I had the privilege of being the first preschool teacher when we opened Calvary Christian School in 2004. I am amazed at what God has done with the school and consider it an awesome privilege to serve Him here. The Lord called me to ministry 25 years ago while attending a Christian Camp. My experience in ministry began at Covenant Community Church in Children’s Ministry, the Preschool and at Tonto Rim Camp as Program Director. I worked at a Jr. High School for four years before coming to Calvary. My education is from Ottawa University (Psychology), CDA from Central Arizona College (Early Childhood Education) and Wheelock Graduate School (Administration). My husband and I both attend Calvary Chapel. We have two married daughters and 3 grand children.

Preschool Teachers
Nicole
Nicole has been with CCS since January 2006. She began as a helper in her daughters preschool class. nicole has attended a number of workshops and seminars including the the ACSI Principles and Practices of Christian Early Education.

I have been blessed to serve in Christian education for more than 25 years. I believe that God has a special plan for each of my students! I am privileged to be a small part of that plan for a brief but important time in my student's lives. With God's help, I strive to nurture a love for God and for learning!

Alicia
I have been married to my husband, Kent for eight years. We have three wonderful children, Alexander (age 15), Virginia (age 6), Joanna (age 5). I have lived in Arizona my entire life. My family moved to Queen Creek (San Tan area) a year and a half ago and we love it! I have an associates degree of applied science in Electronics from DeVry University. I have been a stay-at-home mom for six years.

Kathy has received a wealth of experience in Kindergarten from the Chandler Unified School District where she workd since 2004. Prior to that she was a Kindergarten Assistant at a Christian school. Kathy attended college at the University of Denver and is currently continuing her education from Calvary Chapel Teachers College. Kathy is married and has two children.

Gradeschool Teachers
First Grade
Catrina
My family and I have been in AZ for 2 1/2 years. We relocated here from northern NV (near Lake Tahoe) and prior to that we lived in CA. I have been married for 11 years and I have two precious daughters that attend CCS. I have a pet turtle named Lulu who likes shrimp and lettuce. This will be my third year teaching first grade at a Christian school. I understand the vital importance of providing children with an education which gives them a strong foundation in both academic and spiritual growth. First grade plays a crucial role in establishing that foundation and cultivating the skills necessary for continued development. My prayer is that as your children learn the fundamentals of reading and math this year, they will also "grow in grace and the knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ."

Spanish
Marcia
I am blessed and excited to have the opportunity to teach Spanish here at CCS. I have been married for almost 19 years and have 3 children, Kristen 17, Ricky 14 and Isaac 11. I have been home-schooling my children for about 4 years and really enjoy it.
In my spare time I enjoy reading, spending special time with my family and cooking. I was born in California and grew up in a Spanish speaking home. My parents are from Mexico and I was able to be bilingual all my life.

We have a great plans for the school year learning colors, numbers, names and all sorts of wonderful things. My goal would be to teach your child to the best of my ability so that they would enjoy Spanish and its culture.

Physical Education

Amanda
My husband, Jeff and I have 2 children, Garret (1st grade) and Sarah (Pre-Kindergarten). I graduated from Biola University with a BS degree in Physical Education major and Sports Physiology and Bible minor. I received my teaching certification through Ohawa University and a Masters Degree in Education from NAU. I previously taught at the junior high level for Mesa Public Schools in Science and Physical Education. Our family loves to play sports and watch Garret and Sarah at BMX.

Playground Supervisor
Deanna
Deanna started as an assistant in our Kindergarten class. Deanna loves Christian education and ministry. She is currently taking classes from Calvary Chapel teachers College. Deanna has a daughter who is attending Bible College.

Our teachers are qualified according to the Arizona State Educational Requirements. All of our staff is fingerprinted and our school is licensed through the Arizona Department of Health Services.
